I love February in the Granite Belt as it is the peak of the harvest season. Stonefruit, apples, grapes, olives, veggies, herbs, cheese, wines... just sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labour in the veggie patch and orchard and don't forget to support the growers and producers around you by shopping local for all you fresh food.

In the rest of the garden, a bit of dead-heading and a dose of fertiliser will give you flowers a second flush. It's also a time to watch out for Azalea Lace Bug on your azaleas and rhododendrons. You'll probably want to hit them with some insecticide. Imidacloprid should do the trick but you can opt for less harsh chemicals and try an eco product with pyrethrum or paraffin oil.
